LifeWave Aids Myrtle Beach Wildfire Fight

April 28, 2009

LifeWave, LLC announced today its aid for the South Carolina wildfire recovery effort. LifeWave donated over $20,000 worth of products to assist firefighters battling the fire in the Myrtle Beach area.

The products, including patches that naturally provide pain relief, enhance energy, and boost antioxidant levels, will help firefighters manage pain and promote the healing process from injuries sustained combating the wildfire.

“A LifeWave distributor called me last week from South Carolina, and I immediately rushed out the products to help the firefighters extinguish the blaze,” said David Schmidt, LifeWave founder and CEO. “LifeWave is doing everything we can to assist the brave fire crews in their battle.”

Scorching an area more than four miles wide, South Carolina’s wildfire has destroyed 70 homes and damaged 100 others since it started last Wednesday. The flames, fed by tinder-dry scrubland, forced thousands of people to flee their homes.

The wildfire has consumed 20,000 acres, according to the Horry County Emergency Operations Center. Officials have estimated the damage to be at least $25 million.

Fire crews still continue to plow fire breaks and spray hot spots. As of today, the wildfire has been 85 percent contained.

In addition to its South Carolina wildfire donation, LifeWave provides ongoing aid for bushfire victims in Australia.
