LifeWave’s Patches Aid in Healing Australian Bushfire Victims
April 16, 2009
Working with the Professional Practitioner Volunteer Clinic in southern Australia, LifeWave recently started providing aid for the Australian bushfire recovery effort.
So far LifeWave has donated over USD 100,000 (AUD 143,600) worth of products in recovery kits to assist victims affected by the February bushfires in the state of Victoria. This pledge will continue by providing the donation over the next six months.
The recovery kits, complete with Energy Enhancer, Silent Nights, and IceWave patches, help people injured in the fires to manage pain and promote the healing process.
Professional Practitioner Volunteer Clinic (PPVC) co-founder Karen Dickson has seen firsthand the positive effects these patches have made for those injured. “Many clients who visited the clinic when it first opened now find the earlier difficulties they experienced with sleeping or concentration at home and work have ceased,” she stated.
Speaking on behalf of LifeWave in Australia, Jackie Rosenfield, a LifeWave member, commended PPVC’s tireless recovery efforts. “Huge kudos go to Karen Dickson and Barbara Dickson for creating the Professional Practitioner Volunteer clinics in rural Australia,” she stated. “Their work has been ceaseless in tending to and supporting those affected and risking their lives fighting the bushfires.”
Jackie also commended David Schmidt, LifeWave’s founder and CEO, for his pledge to support PPVC. “Many thanks to David for recognizing the dire need for his patches and stepping in to assist Australia in its time of need,” she said.
Throughout the month of February, hundreds of bushfires swept through Victoria during a record-breaking heat wave with temperatures above 100°F (38°C). Authorities have characterized the fires as the deadliest in Australian history, reporting nearly 250 deaths.
First established in Yarra Glen, Victoria, and now with locations throughout the state, PPVC gives bushfire victims access to physical and mental healing treatment. It also places health care volunteers throughout the hardest hit areas in the state and distributes LifeWave products to the injured.
